Phase 1 focuses on stabilizing the nervous system and understanding how trauma and chaotic life events caused the mind to fragment in order to survive. When stress happens, especially early in life, the nervous system adapts before the mind can reason. These adaptations form survival patterns that can continue operating long after the original experiences have passed.
In this phase, individuals begin identifying how those survival patterns shaped identity, emotional responses, and behavior. As awareness increases, internal noise decreases and the nervous system starts to regulate. The mind gains enough stability to distinguish between present reality and past conditioning.
Phase 1 is not about reliving trauma or fixing what is broken. It is about restoring steadiness to a mind that learned to fragment under pressure. By the end of this phase, individuals typically feel more grounded, clear, and internally stable, creating the foundation for integration.
